Speak out!

One of the best things about our Save Radio New Zealand Facebook group is the number of people who've taken the time to write a comment about why they value Radio New Zealand. Here are a couple picked at random:
Kelby Harmes: I'm a New Zealander who has lived in the UK for 7 years - I hope that doesn't disqualify me from offering a view on the future of Radio NZ. I'm an avid consumer of various Radio NZ podcasts: mediawatch, bits and bobs from nine to noon, and Kim Hill's entire output. The quality of this programming is, without question, ...up there with the best in the English speaking world. What's more amazing is that it is achieved with a (by world standards) relatively small budget (compare, for example, BBC Radio 4's). One of the things I, as an ex pat, particularly appreciate about Radio NZ is the distinctive NZ voice it uses to discuss world affairs. A Kim Hill interview, for example, will elicit different information from and offer a different perspective on an interview with the same subject on the BBC. I don't want to overstate, but I truly believe that Radio NZ plays a fundamental role in the sustenance, development and understanding of a distinctive NZ culture.
Jenny Smith: Radio New Zealand National. I like it just the way it is.
What do you think about RadioNZ? Why do you love it? What does it mean to you?
